Healthy Chocolate

Is there such a thing as healthy chocolate?  Well, according to Web MD, there is!  Dark chocolate is packed full of antioxidants to help prevent diseases, and has also been shown to reduce high blood pressure.  So, you can have your chocolate, and eat it too!  …Just as long as you don’t mind it being a tad bitter.  🙂


  1. interesting facts. THe artical says that eating dark chocolate can help lower blood pressure but you can not eat alot of it and you have to cut back on some other calories. the most intresting thing i read in this article is that drinking milk with your chocolate is counter productive because it says that the milk blocks the antioxidants you could be getting from the chocolate from entering your body.

  2. I did a little reading and discovered that pure cocoa has aspirin-like qualities and actually thins the blood. However, when it becomes over processed and ingredients such as butter, cream, and sugar are added, these properties disappear and the only benefit that chocolate has is that it tastes good. However, cocoa in its raw form tastes extremely bitter and is almost unpalatable. Because of this, they have tried to create a cocoa supplement pill, but the idea has not taken off yet, as there are still some questions as to whether or not cocoa;s benefits are worth exploring and creating supplements for.
